Heche was a contestant on season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars”

Heche was a cast member during Season 29 of “Dancing With the Stars.”

She said after the show that she had a five-week contract while there.

In an episode of Jason Tartick’s podcast, “Trading Secrets,” Heche opened up about what she went through on the show.

The podcast episode, titled “The Financial Risk of Being a Working Actor and Moving the Needle on LGBTQ+ Rights with Emmy Award Winner Anne Heche and Heather Duffy,” was released on Monday, November 1, 2021. .

“What happened on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ night…if I had moved on to another dance, I would have made thousands more dollars,” Heche said in the episode. “And what they did was stop the original contract, which was for five weeks, and they fired me before I could make any more money.”

She added: “That, to me, was one of the most shocking things. People saw me wince, which looked like an accident, no one understood what was going on, there was a little mess.

The “kerfuffle” she mentioned refers to the Season 29 episode of the show when Tyra Banks announced the incorrect bottom two teams and had to take Heche and her partner back to the ballroom after previously announcing that they were safe.
