‘Batgirl’ Directors Share Message Of Support From Kevin Feige After Film Ax – Deadline

bat girl Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah sent a message of support from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige following the withdrawal of their film by Warner Bros.

Captioned, “Thank you brother Kevin,” El Arbi shared Feige’s post on Instagram.

“My friends, I had to reach out and let you know that we are all thinking of you both,” Feige wrote in an email to Arbi and Fallah. “Because of the wonderful wedding news (congratulations!) and the disappointing news about ‘Batgirl’. Very proud of you guys and all the amazing work you do and especially ‘Ms. Wonder’ of course I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you next. See you soon, I hope.”

Arbi and Fallah directed two episodes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Mrs. Marvel. They were in Morocco this week for El Arbi’s wedding when they heard the news of bat girl.

“Thank you for all the messages of support all over the world,” Arbi wrote on Instagram. “Shoutout directors Edgar Wright and James Gunn, your kind words and experience mean a lot and help us through this difficult time.”

It was revealed earlier this week that Warner Bros. Discovery had shelved the film to take advantage of a “buy accounting” maneuver available to the newly merged conglom. During the company’s Q2 call on Thursday, CEO David Zaslov summed up the reason the movie was removed, saying “We’re not going to release a movie until it’s ready.”
